James Ashby also known as just (Ashby) is a guitarist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, teacher and session player.

For the last 12 years James has been playing lead guitar for the 1980's successful band 'T'pau' performing all over the world including tours and festivals. He has recently taken part in recording/writing their latest album 'Be Wonderful' out April 2026.
​
James has also played guitar for many other artists including Nick Heyward (Haircut 100), Steve Norman (Spandau Ballet) and Nick Van Ede (Cutting Crew) to name a few.
​
In December 2024, James performed on an Arena Tour supporting The Human League and Sophie Ellis Bextor at arenas around the country including Wembley Arena, Manchester AO Arena and Birmingham Utilita Arena.

He is also one fifth of London based alt/rock band Romances.
James has been teaching Guitar and Drums for over two decades to many students in the North London and surrounding areas.
